The Natural Draw
The desk is my home
The screen is my B&C
But my heart wants to roam
I need to be out of the city
This is life as we know it
Some of us were given a great chance
There is pressure not to blow it
My role seems perfect at first glance
The mountains are always calling
But wealth is surely ahead
Down the rabbit hole I am falling
Is this dream only in my head?
I know I am fortunate
I am on a path of least resistance
But my natural muse is importunate
I can no longer ignore its insistence
To quit is a bad word
To leave gives them questions
But now I am a free bird
Normalcy and security are my cessions
I know I have been drawn
It was out of my control
It was something I had to act on
I can feel the release of my soul
I am now living my truth
As a follower of Walden
Nature is my Phantom Toolbooth
My adventures will never be all done
